eNews Term 1 Issue 1

Dear Sha Tin Junior Community,

Welcome Back!

I hope you had a fabulous summer break – and that you had the chance to relax with your family.

As the new Principal I am really looking forward to working with and serving our school community. I am really keen to meet as many parents and family members as possible and welcome you to the school each day. I am keen to learn from you about our community and work in partnership to create the best possible learning experiences for children.

I arrived in Hong Kong with my family at the beginning of August and we are quickly feeling settled in our new home. We have found a new passion for Dim Sum and the opportunity to swim outdoors most days after work.

I am delighted to be working with such an open and honest team of professionals across the school, and greatly appreciate the collegiality and continuity offered by Christopher Coyle (Principal, Wu Kai Sha Kindergarten) and Derek Pinchbeck (ESF Learning & Teaching Advisor) as well as our established leadership team members Bryan, Elise & Trudy, whom you know well.

I’d like to thank the staff and ESF community for making me feel so welcome – but not so much the mosquitos!

Wishing you all the very best for a positive year ahead!

Best wishes,

Rehana Shanks
