Dear Parents and Children,
As another school year draws to a close, I would like to take breath and thank you for the help and support you have provided in ensuring another successful year at SJS. It is the passion and enthusiasm of your children that makes SJS a special place and I thank you for your encouragement of these special virtues.
As with the end of every year, we bid farewell to many friends and colleagues. To our Year 6 students, to students in other year groups who are moving on this summer, and to their families, I say ‘Farewell’ and I hope you have fond memories of your time as members of our community.
To our departing staff – Kirsty Chambers (2.5), Catherine Grogan (2.4), James Whyman (4.4), Bernice Wong (1.3 EA), Angela Tong (3.2 EA), Grace Leung (Mandarin EA) and Maria Lee (LS EA) I thank you for your contributions to the school and wish you well in your future endeavours.
Please enjoy the photographic memories of the last week of school provided in this short newsletter. Enjoy some special family time during the summer break and we will be ready to welcome the children back to school at 8.30am on Monday 13 August 2013.
Happy Holidays everybody.
PS – We have experienced a small occurrence of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease and Scarlet Fever at school over the last week. By this morning we were aware of 15 confirmed cases, mainly affecting students in Years 1 and 2. We have been in contact with the Centre for Health Protection and parents of children in the classes concerned have been informed separately. The situation will no doubt settle over the holiday break, but please keep a look out for any symptoms that your child may exhibit, especially during the next few days.
